Specifications for Lowell's NASAcam

Overview

Lowell's NASAcam was built by Dr. Ted Dunham using a 2Kx2K Loral CCD. Unlike the NURO CCD, this camera is thermoelectrically cooled, and thus does not use liquid nitrogen. The camera uses a 2:1 focal reducer; on the 31-inch this gives a plate scale of about 0.5"/pixel with an approximate field of view of 17 arcmin per side. There are a couple of bad columns, and the rows at the south edge of the field need to be trimmed off. Click here for the first-light image.
